The Strathclyde chair

The Strathclyde chair is made of pitch pine from stable timbers in Bishopbriggs, which are 250 years old. The chair contains a regenerated brick, which was formed from the pile dredgings from the new Ibrox stand when it was being built in 1991/92. It also contains a bottle of whisky - the "Spirit of Govan" - and the chair's backrest portrays Scotland, located within which was, until the recent re-structuring of local government, the region of Strathclyde.
